Y. Berger & Co. AB is a trading company with knowledge, traditions, and progressive thinking

In the late forties Mr Yngve Berger set out to visit the Far East. Transports were very difficult but after twelve stops and travelling by various propeller driven cargo planes and war time carriers he arrived in Japan. His trip also included a visit to China and other leading nations of the Far East. A number of these early contacts are still valued suppliers of the company. In 1959 Mr Yngve Berger established the company Y. Berger & Co. in Göteborg, following a typical Göteborg tradition of trading with far away continents. At first import was focused on the Japanese market and textile piece goods were supplied in large quantities to the still hungry Scandinavian market for producers of trousers, coats, suits etc. Soon textile yarns and fibres followed and the company grew into a sizeable importer of textile raw material and piece goods. Later on all kinds of footwear and gloves also became part of the business. A dynamic market with ever changing trends Our objective is to be the market leader in each of our business sectors. This of course requires thorough knowledge of the market and the products by a very committed staff. Our trade requires a high degree of specialization. We therefore have different departments with staff well trained for their various product groups and market sectors, constantly on the lookout for new and better items. In a dynamic market with its rapidly changing trends and demand for renewal of products, our staff members are, through their know-how, experience and good sense for fashion and material trends well prepared to contribute to this development.
