DEVISYS HEEL STOP CLEATS MAKE ICY CONDITIONS SAFE
The most common reason for pedestrian falls is slipping. In Finland there are over 70 000 fall-related injuries resulting in hospitalization every year. On average, a falling accident requires a sick leave of 29 days while one day of sick leave incurs approximately 420 Euros of costs for the employer.
Most slipping injuries can be prevented with the help of non-slip devices. In order to facilitate everyday use, the device needs to be easy to put on and take off.
A study on walking-related slipping injuries by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland led to the initial design of the Devisys non-slip device. As the research concluded that the most serious injuries resulted from heel skids, Devisys heel stop cleat was designed expressly to provide heel friction.
The design principles for Devisys heel stop cleats were safety, freedom of movement and ease of use. The Devisys cleats attach with convenient hook and loop fastening straps that are easy to use even for people with impaired strength.
Devisys heel stops are constructed of TR (tm) rubber. Friction is provided by extremely resilient steel studs similar to the ones found in car tyres. There is a 3M (tm) reflective strip at the heel for additional pedestrian safety. Devisys product range consists of four sizes S, M, L and XL.
