Narda Safety Test Solutions was established on January 1, 2000. The company originated from the high frequency measurement division of the former Wandel & Goltermann Group. Now Narda is a leading provider of measuring equipment in the fields of RF Safety, EMC and RF Testing. The RF Safety product range covers wideband and frequency-selective measuringdevices, and monitors for wide area monitoring, as well as personal safety monitors that are worn on the person. Under the PMM brand name, the EMC range offers measuring instrumentsfor determining the electromagnetic compatibility of devices. The Narda Test Solutions brand presents a range for RF Testing with spectrum analyzers, and devices for measuring andidentifying radio sources.

The Company

Narda Safety Test Solutions is part of L-3 Communications, New York. L-3 Communications, established in 1997, operates 75 Business Units worldwide, has around 63,000 employees, and generates revenue of more than 15 billion US dollars (2010). The Narda Group within L-3 Communications comprises ten divisions with some 2,800 employees. The Narda Group can look back on 80 years of experience and has key competences in microwave components, antennas, and satellite communications.

Narda Safety Test Solutions, part of the NardaGroup, has development and production facilities at its headquarters in Pfullingen/Germany as well as at the Hauppauge, Long Island/USA and Cisano/Italy sites and has its own representative in Beijing/China. A worldwide network of representatives guarantees customer focus.

The Objectives

Narda is one of the leading providers of high-quality, application-oriented measurement technology solutions. Narda does not develop a single product without first consulting a large number of customers. This ensures that the applied know-how of people on the ground is reflected in Narda products.

Narda's competence derives on the one hand from the many years of experience in the field of high frequency and microwave technology gathered by a team of specialist engineers, and on the other hand from the worldwide network of partners maintained by Narda, who are responsible for advising customers and marketing the instruments. Narda gives these partners regular instruction and technical training. Participation in standardization bodies such as CENELEC, IEEE and IEC means that Narda is always up to date with current discussions and can develop its products with an eye for the future.

Narda uses a management system compliant with ISO 9001/2008 to continuously ensure product quality and the development ability of the company. This defines the organizational and operational processes and serves as a starting point for improvements. The in-house calibration laboratory performs its services in accordance with the processes, regulations, and instructions described by the company, independently of any directives from the board of directors. The calibration processes conform to ISO/IEC 17025.

Narda is convinced that sustainable environmentally friendly action contributes to the success of the company. The aim is therefore to produce durable products, to use resources economically, and to avoid damaging the environment. All new developments are based on the following directives of the European Parliament: 2002/95/EG (RoHS), 2002/96/EG (WEEE) and 2003/11/EG (dangerous substances). The products are marked in accordance with these directives. Narda applies both its own and all legally required export controls.
