Evacusafe Tracked Evacuation Chairs are suitable for a single person operation and can be used on a wide variety of stairs. Mainly operated on a straight continuous run, they can also be used (with some training) on a mild spiral, though this will be best suited for a 2 person operation. The Excel version also has built in carry handles which can be used to carry the chair back up the stairs. Naturally this will require some physical effort and it is recommended that a full Risk Assessment or PEEP is carried out if this forms part of your evacuation plan.

Lightweight yet incredibly strong the chairs can transport persons of up to 160kg. The tracks create friction which acts as a brake to slow the descent and allow a smooth, controlled operation. Once ground level has been reached the handle folds away and the chair can be used as a temporary wheelchair. With a firm FLAT seat and armrests, the chair is very comfortable to stay in for long periods.

The Evacusafe Evacuslider is a thick foam mattress with a super smooth underside, suitable for moving persons who need to be transported horizontally. The Slider is especially useful in areas that are space restricted and stairways that are tight and narrow.

Along with other evacuation-mattresses the Evacuslider works by pulling the patient along the floor and down the stairs. The shiny underside of the Evacuslider facilitates this by removing friction allowing a rapid descent. The patient is protected at all times by the 80mm thick mattress, built in head support blocks and quick release body support straps.

With the Excel Evacuslider you do not need to have additional sheets or equipment to move the patient from the bed onto the Slider. It comes with an additional 6 carry handles built that removes much of the heavy lifting and Manual Handling and makes it much safer for the patient.
