Certottica is the Italian Institute for the Certification of optical products, and leads the field in assessing whether optical products are compliant with EC standards.
The Institute helps businesses to navigate their way through the complex waters of compliance with European and international regulations – and indeed goes further than that. Acutely aware of the rapid changes at work in the global market, Certottica is moving towards operating in a range of business areas and offering a variety of services.

Developing scientific projects, offering top-level training programmes, helping to set down national and international standards, issuing test reports to assess product conformity: these are just a few of the activities dealt with by Certottica's Training, Standardisation, Certification and Research and Innovation Departments.

The professional experience gained through day-to-day activity and ongoing updates designed to keep pace with new developments have allowed the Institute to establish numerous advisory relationships in both the public and private sectors. In particular, the Commercial Assistance and Advisory Office works alongside businesses to help them comply with the legal standards required for products to be sold with the CE mark; it also provides indications to clients on the requisites products must meet in order to circulate freely on the global market, such as the laboratory tests to be carried out in accordance with national and international regulations.

The Europlanning Office supports businesses in seeking and managing public funding for product innovation or for the development of leading-edge industrial processes. This service is offered to all industrial companies, whatever the sector they belong to, and Certottica takes care of collecting and compiling all the documentation required for the presentation of project applications; once the applications have been accepted, we manage the administrative aspects of the project and draw up the required reports.
