Variable friction and high capacity for abseiling, ascending, lowering, hauling and rescue.
Key features include:
• Variable friction design
• Double-braking mechanism
• All component parts visible
• User choice of two threading configurations
• Switch between configurations under load
• High load rating
• Complies with IRATA Code of Practice
Variable friction design allows simple adjustment and positioning on ropes at any angle. A constant low-level of friction is always applied by spring-loaded bobbin, which is held on rope, so friction can be changed immediately and smoothly.
Double-braking mechanism means if handle is released, device brakes, or if handle is squeezed hard (in panic) device also brakes. Device is adjusted by holding handle in "sweet spot".
Inspection and cleaning is simple as all component parts of device are visible and accessible.
Two threading configurations provide different levels of friction, ensuring efficient and ergonomic use. User can switch from one configuration to the other while device is loaded.
High rated load permits pick-off rescues, without requiring additional equipment to increase friction.

Very widely used in fire and rescue service. Selected for use by all official UK Urban Search and Rescue Teams.
Unique, patented product available only from heightec. Special cam X-Cam design is specifically for industrial or professional use and offers immediate purchase on the rope whilst minimising the potential for rope damage. The X-Cam design will continue to hold over 100 kg on a rope even in the extreme event of a sheath being ruptured.
The simplicity and compactness of the HaulCam is a major advantage in allowing non-experts to achieve the lifting of a suspended casualty.
Received innovation award by British Safety Industry Federation.

The Manta back-up is an adaptable rope access back-up device with high loading capability and has a maximum rated load for 2 person rescue situations. When tested at heightec’s UK facility, the Manta successfully passed a drop test of 200 kg without damaging the rope. This is critical in emergency situations.
The Manta gives greater margins for safety in low ground clearance situations due to its short arrest distance. Remaining above the user at all times, the Manta is towed by the user via cord attachment and cannot be accidentally dragged down the rope. Should there be a sudden load, the cord detaches and activates the back-up device.
Constructed of alloy body and durable stainless plated steel friction surfaces, the Manta is hard wearing and durable, with no hidden parts or mechanisms make it easy to inspect and clean.
Adopting this new device does not require a change in existing work practices or current kit, therefore a time and cost benefit to the user.
The Manta conforms to European and US standards and are designed to address the "Likelihood and consequence of misuse" clause in the new draft IRATA Code of Practice.

When tested on new Tectra 11 mm low stretch rope, these ascenders were found to be 25% stronger than their most popular sharp toothed competitor, with average breaking loads of around 675 kg for X-cams versus 535 kg for the established design.
However, the greatest increase in performance is exhibited if the ascender continues to be loaded after the sheath of the rope has ruptured.
In this situation, X-Cams will hold up to 200 kg on the broken sheath and rope cores. Established toothed designs supported only around 30kg in heightec tests - nowhere near enough to support a person.
X-Cam design gives increased performance over traditional sharp tooth design
• Cam exerts considerable grip on rope after sheath has broken
• Cam doesn't pluck rope
• Easy to remove from rope if accidentally jammed into knot
Two attachment points
• Keeps cowstail and footloop separate
• Eliminates need to open a loaded karabiner
Also available in left handed version

Twin fall arrest lanyard of the very highest specification, allowing continuous connection to a ladder or structure when climbing masts and towers.
Specially compact energy absorbing element has high strength stainless steel connecting ring.
The lanyard arms are made from patented Paraloc low stretch rope, a new design which virtually eliminates the kinking which occurs with normal kernmantel rope versions.
The back-up webbing and stitching exceed the tensile strength requirements of European standard EN 355 by 50% and it has been dynamically tested with a load of 125 kg without damage.
The stainless connecting ring will allow it to withstand a substantial fall even in cases of extreme misuse, such as when the energy absorbing element is bypassed.
